What should this
delivery cost?
Tell us where it's going and we'll price it the way a traditional courier would — base charge, mileage, weight, fuel — and then take 20% off. It takes about fifteen seconds and we don't ask for your name or your email.
This is an estimate, not a quote. Your actual price can be higher. The only real price is the one you get from us on the phone.

How the number is built
No mystery in the math.
Couriers have priced work the same way for decades. We run that arithmetic in front of you instead of behind you.
-
Real road miles
Both addresses are checked against the U.S. Census Bureau's address database, then measured by driving route — not a straight line on a map.
-
Today's fuel
The fuel line moves with the Energy Information Administration's weekly Ohio average pump price, the same public number the freight industry indexes to.
-
Then 20% off
We total it the way a traditional courier would bill it, then cut a fifth off the whole thing. That gap is the estimate's entire point.
The rates behind it
The "traditional courier" column is built from published 2026 industry figures, not from a competitor's contract: local courier line haul is quoted at $1.50–$3.00 a mile across pricing guides, a local run under 20 miles at $20–$50, and ground fuel surcharges ran 8–15% of line haul through 2025–26. We use the middle of those ranges — a $24 base that covers the first 5 miles, $2.25 a mile after that, tiered weight, and a fuel percentage that tracks the Ohio pump price.
Rush work is where the two columns separate hardest. A traditional courier bills a STAT premium for it. On Spot has never charged one, so a rush run saves you considerably more than 20%.

Why your actual price could be higher.
A calculator knows two addresses and a weight. It doesn't know your loading dock. Any of these can move the real number up:
- Waiting at pickup or delivery, or a dock that isn't ready for the driver.
- Stairs, elevators, long carries, or anything that needs two people.
- Items that are oversized, fragile, hazardous, or need special handling.
- More than one stop, a return leg, or a route that changes after dispatch.
- Tolls, parking, permits, and downtown access.
- Traffic, weather, road closures, and the hour of the day.
- Fuel moving between the weekly figure shown here and the day of your run.
- Anything the address lookup got wrong, including the wrong unit or suite.
Nothing on this page is a quote or an offer. It is an informational estimate generated from public average rates and public fuel data, and On Spot Courier & Delivery Services is not bound by it. Prices for your delivery are confirmed only by On Spot directly. Address verification and distances come from third-party public services and can be wrong.
